There is a season in life that deserves to be celebrated. A season filled with wisdom earned, stories worth telling, friendships worth keeping, and days worth living fully. At Mission of Mercy International, we created Golden Connections because we believe every senior deserves to experience exactly that.
Golden Connections is our comprehensive seniors program serving older adults across the Greater Toronto Area. We know that aging comes with real challenges — loneliness, health concerns, food insecurity, and the slow erosion of community that can happen when the world moves on without them.
We also know that those challenges are not inevitable. With the right support, the right people, and the right programs, seniors don't just survive — they thrive.
Golden Connections brings together six distinct program areas, each designed to meet seniors where they are and give them something to look forward to. Whether it's a volunteer arriving at the door with groceries and a warm smile, a room full of laughter at a book club, the healing rhythm of a music therapy session, or a shopping trip on a Tuesday afternoon — every program is built on the same foundation: connection, dignity, and joy.
Our programs serve low-to-moderate income seniors aged 65 and older, with priority given to newcomer seniors, racialized and Indigenous elders, widowed seniors, and those with limited English proficiency — the individuals most at risk of chronic isolation and all that comes with it.
Golden Connections is community, built one visit, one meal, one song, and one stitch at a time.

The Need Is Urgent
Over one in three older Canadians experiences chronic loneliness. In the GTA alone, thousands of seniors are living on fixed incomes without nearby family, without reliable transportation, and without access to the programs that could change everything.
These are not people who have given up. They are people who have been left behind — by systems too stretched to reach them, and by a pace of life that has moved on without them.

With a funds-to-field rate consistently exceeding 95%, Mission of Mercy International ensures that your gift goes directly to the seniors who need it — not to overhead, not to administration, but to meals, music, books, and the human connection that makes all the difference.
